The Mattersteig & Co. Firm for process engineering & environmental protection mbH, (hereinafter referred to as MATTERSTEIG & Co. INGENIEURGESELLSCHAFT mbH), as a notified measurement body in accordance with Section 29b of the German Federal Immission Control Act (BImSchG) and an accredited testing laboratory, is obliged to handle your data, including personal data, in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025. In all cases, the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG), as amended and effective from 25 May 2018, are complied with.
Against this background, we would like to inform you of our principles for processing your personal data.

3. Categories of Data Processed and Purposes of Processing
a) When you engage or contact The Mattersteig & Co. Firm for process engineering & environmental protection mbH, we collect the following information relating to our clients/contact persons:
• Title, first name, last name
• Postal address
• Telephone number (landline and/or mobile phone)
• Fax number
• Email address
• Position in the company
The aforementioned personal data are stored in password-protected and secure software systems, as well as on a NAS server located on the company’s premises.
Purpose of processing:
• Authentication of the contact person; legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
• Performance of pre-contractual and contractual obligations, including the preparation of measurement reports; legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
• Legitimate interests: legal basis Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Such legitimate interests include responding to inquiries from contact persons outside a contractual relationship and maintaining customer relations.
b) Payment data of data subjects (private individuals or sole proprietors) required for processing payments, such as bank details, are stored solely for the purpose of fulfilling our obligations under tax law (e.g. the retention of bank statements). The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR. No further storage takes place.
4. Disclosure of Data
We only disclose your personal data if we are legally obliged to do so, if you have given your consent and/or commissioned us accordingly, and/or if processors engaged by us guarantee compliance with the requirements of the GDPR and the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG). For example, we are legally obliged to transmit measurement reports, including the personal data contained therein, in full to the respective competent state authority. The legal basis for this is Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
For certain technical processes of data processing or storage, we rely on the support of external service providers (e.g. for the storage of backup copies). These service providers are carefully selected and meet high standards of data protection and data security. They are bound by strict confidentiality and process data solely on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions.
5. Data Retention Period
We process and store your personal data for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this privacy policy. If your data are no longer required for the purposes described, they will be deleted unless statutory provisions (e.g. tax retention requirements) require a longer retention period.

7. Automated Decision-Making / Profiling / Transfers to Third Countries
The Mattersteig & Co. Firm for process engineering & environmental protection mbH does not carry out automated decision-making, profiling, or transfers to third countries.
8. Right to Object
Information on your right to object pursuant to Art. 21 GDPR
You have the right to object, at any time, to the processing of personal data concerning you which is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (data processing based on a balancing of interests) (Art. 21 GDPR).
In the event of an objection, we will no longer process the personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override your interests, rights and freedoms, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
The objection may be addressed to MATTERSTEIG & Co. INGENIEURGESELLSCHAFT mbH as the controller and/or to our Data Protection Officer. The objection does not require any particular form.
